Stories of Redemption

Jesus is still saving, healing, delivering, restoring.

These stories are drawn from recent Bodybuilders Ministry newsletters. Public versions remain anonymous to protect the men and their families.

Salvation + Healing

Healed and Drawn to Christ

A man attending The Chosen for the first time was seized with severe back pain. Alta stopped the video and prayed in Jesus' name. The pain left, and the following day he was seen playing basketball. He continued attending the meetings, began a relationship with Christ, and became a joyful new creation. Before his release, he used his final Sunday to invite a friend to receive Christ.

Salvation

The Gift of Salvation

At a Christmas gathering, John used his Bible to show that peace with God is a gift. One man stood and took the Bible as a point of contact, then responded with an emphatic yes when asked if he wanted to receive Christ. He prayed through tears, kissed the Bible, and the room erupted in praise.

Salvation + Discipleship

The Power of Invitation

Before communion, a newcomer raised his hand and said he wanted to accept Christ. He explained that he had been spending time with Christian men in his row and had come to church because of their encouragement. One of the incarcerated believers prayed with him as he received salvation.

Love + Restoration

Rooted and Established in Love

After completing a searching personal inventory and facing the truth about his past, a new believer returned to his cell and began telling God that he loved Him. He heard the Lord answer, 'I love you.' The power of God overwhelmed him, and he wept for more than an hour as he experienced the personal love of Christ.

Healing

Healing in Jesus' Name

During one season of ministry, men received prayer for shoulder, neck, and back pain. The newsletters report immediate relief and restored movement, reinforcing the message the men had been confessing from Psalm 103: God forgives, heals, and redeems.

Deliverance

Peace in Place of Unforgiveness

A man asked for prayer because he wanted freedom from unforgiveness. He chose to forgive, and prayer was offered for deliverance from unforgiveness, wrath, revenge, and related oppression. The following week, he reported that situations which normally would have pushed him over the edge no longer controlled him. Instead, he had peace.

Prayer Callout

Please pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to confirm God's Word — saving, healing, delivering, restoring, and leading men into their God-given purpose.
